How to Update Woo Batches
Updates to Woo Batches, WordPress and other plugins are part of the secure operation of a WordPress site. Our development team works hard every day to release updates that add new features, fix issues, improve security, and generally make your user experience better than ever. But how can you update Woo Batches without causing problems? In the following, we go into some common possibilities.
Please note that updating Woo Batches is only possible with an active license key. If your license key has expired, you will need a new one to continue receiving updates and support.
Preparation
Section titled “Preparation”Before each update, please make sure to backup your WordPress site. The backup should contain the wp-content directory and the database of your WordPress site. This ensures that your WordPress site can be restored after a failed update.
Basically, we test every update before release, but some WordPress pages may have peculiarities that may interrupt or affect the update.
The easiest way to update Woo Batches is through the Updates page in the WordPress admin dashboard of your WordPress site. Alternatively, you can download the latest version in your order on Enwikuna Agency and update it via the Plugins page in the WordPress admin dashboard or by uploading the unpacked installation file to the WordPress plugins folder via FTP.
Update via the WordPress admin dashboard
Section titled “Update via the WordPress admin dashboard”Learn how to update Woo Batches via WordPress admin dashboard. Unlike the installation of Woo Batches, there are two different options for updating.
Option 1: Updates page
Section titled “Option 1: Updates page”Probably the easiest way to update Woo Batches is via the page Updates in WordPress admin dashboard.
- Sign in to your WordPress site and open the WordPress admin dashboard. Go to Dashboard > Updates. You will now see a list of existing updates to your plugins. WordPress updates. If no updates are visible, you can click the Review button to delete the update cache, which ideally displays new updates, as the cache will only automatically delete once a day. This prevents too many requests to our backend, which provides the updates.
- If there is an update for Woo Batches, you will find it in the update table Plugins. Now activate the checkbox in the table and press the button Update plugins. Woo Batches is now automatically updated.
Note: Please note that updates to our products can only be displayed on this page if you have installed and activated the Enwikuna Helper, as it conveys important URLs to our update file for Woo Batches to WordPress. This is the only way WordPress knows if there is a new update for Woo Batches and can download and install it using the Enwikuna Helper.
Option 2: Plugins page
Section titled “Option 2: Plugins page”Another way is to update via the page Plugins in the WordPress admin dashboard. For this you need the latest installation file of Woo Batches, which you can download in your Enwikuna Agency customer account. You will now find a file named woo-batches.zip in your Downloads folder.
- Sign in to your WordPress site and open the WordPress admin dashboard. Go to Plugins > Install > Upload plugin. Now select the Select file from your download folder. Start the installation from the Install now button.
In individual cases, you will be asked during the update whether you really want to replace the existing version. You must confirm this accordingly.
Update by FTP file upload
Section titled “Update by FTP file upload”The last option is to update via FTP file upload. Also for this you need the latest installation file of Woo Batches, which you can download in your Enwikuna Agency customer account. You will now find a file named woo-batches.zip in your Downloads folder.
- Unzip the file just downloaded woo-batches.zip*.
- Sign in to your server with e.g. FileZilla and open the path wp-content > plugins. Upload the extracted woo-batches folder from your Downloads folder into the Plugins folder on your server and completely overwrite the current files as soon as you are asked. The plugin is now updated.
After a successful upload, visit your WordPress site and open the WordPress admin dashboard. The setup wizard should now be automatically displayed.
Update message
Section titled “Update message”In some cases, an update notice will appear if you have updated to a new version of Woo Batches and background updates are necessary.
After successful completion of the background updates, a corresponding message will be displayed informing you of the completion of the background updates.
It may happen that your page prevents the background updates from running and the message does not disappear. In this case, please contact us by e-mail so that we can help you immediately.
Next steps
Section titled “Next steps”After each update, the setup wizard of Woo Batches opens automatically, because it may happen that Woo Batches receives important new settings, which you have to set in the setup wizard. Please take a moment for this. You can deactivate automatic opening from the setup wizard after updates at any time in the Woo Batches settings. However, we advise against this.
